Salad For President on Radio Cherry Bombe!

If you have yet to see Cherry Bombe Magazine, you are missing out. This elegantly designed quarterly magazine features the most compelling and creative women working the food industry across the country; on the cover this month is Ruth Reichl. Their annual conference, The Cherry Bombe Jubilee, featured heavy-hitters like Alice Waters, Suzanne Goin and April Bloomfield (sadly I missed this year’s inaugural event, but I will be at the next one!). I am thrilled to be the story for their “Cultured” spread next issue.

Cherry Bombe also puts out a podcast on Heritage Radio Network, the grassroots radio network broadcast live from Roberta’s Pizzeria in Bushwick. HeritageRadioNetwork.org is committed to archiving, protecting, and advancing our country’s rich food culture, and it couldn’t broadcast from  a hipper location.  I was honored to be a guest on the show yesterday. I spoke with host Julia Turshen (an accomplished food writer and chef in her own right) about Salad For President, the Salad Garden at MoMA PS1, and the exciting opening event I am hosting this coming Sunday at the museum.

Katie Baldwin and Amanda Merrow from Amber Waves Farm in East Hampton who run a beautiful CSA program. Julia Turshen and Amber Waves are two upcoming salad guests, so lookout for that. These ladies know their way around the farm and the kitchen.
